sounds like you just picked some option wrong...when you select the
printer, there might be a choice of drivers to use and you should always
use the recommended driver (and it's usually indicated, which driver is
recommended).

I think you are there - just for tweaking.

I'm heading to bed now, I think you're fixed up - see my other post
about replacing the video packages that we removed...the dependency that
was hanging us up is already installed so the rest should install now.
