directFB on FC8

Hi.

I installed FC8 on Dell optiplex 745. Now I tried to build and run the
DirectFB samples (the directFB 1.0 is reportedly included in the
distribution). As a result I got report that there is no dev/fb0 and
that directFB cannot initialize. 

How can I resolve this?
