Changing resolution on laptop

A year or so back I used a package called gtf, which creates modelines from 
the information it can read from your monitor.  It solved my problem nicely.  
That wasn't with FC, though, so I don't know whether there is an rpm or you 
will have to build it.  It's worth a try, though.
