FC6 - libata - NO BOOT

Since 2.6.22 got released, I thought I'd give it a try on my old 
(PIII) FC6 box. Ancient DELL, uses "CONFIG_BLK_DEV_PIIX=y" for the 
disk driver.

Built kernel using OLD PATA drivers, boots just fine (I'm running it now).

Built kernel using LIBATA drivers, it won't boot, can't find 
"/dev/root", when trying to mount the root filesystem.

I suspect I need to tweak the initial ramdisk setup, but I'm too 
stupid. Any clues will be appreciated.
