mounting root filesystem issue ?

You might solve your problem by doing a fresh install of fc6 - upgrading
from RH9 - FC6 tends be a little flakey - lots of out of place, files and
configuration. Personally , I  tend to be wary even when upgrading from
one distribution level to another. (example FC5-FC6) ---------gary
