I just did some comparing between my remote (mutt) computer's cupsd.conf and my
local (jeff) computer's cupsd.conf.
I found this at the end of the mutt cupsd.conf:
QUOTE:
<Location /printers/Samsung>
Order Deny,Allow
Deny From All
Allow From 127.0.0.1
AuthType None
</Location>
# Lines below are automatically generated - DO NOT EDIT
<Location /printers/printer>
Order Deny,Allow
Deny From All
Allow From 127.0.0.1
AuthType None
Allow from All
</Location>
Browsing On
BrowseProtocols cups
BrowseOrder Deny,Allow
BrowseAllow from @LOCAL
BrowseAddress 255.255.255.255
Listen *:631
END OF QUOTE
This is at the end of the jeff cupsd.conf:
QUOTE:
<Location /printers/HP>
Order Deny,Allow
Deny From All
Allow From 127.0.0.1
AuthType None
</Location>
# Lines below are automatically generated - DO NOT EDIT
<Location /printers/Samsung>
Order Deny,Allow
Deny From All
Allow From 127.0.0.1
AuthType None
</Location>
Browsing On
BrowseProtocols cups
BrowseOrder Deny,Allow
BrowseAllow from @LOCAL
Listen 127.0.0.1:631
END OF QUOTE
The interesting part here is the "Allow from All" line that appears
under /printers/printer (which is the only printer on mutt) and "Deny From All"
that appears under printers/Samsung on jeff, which is actually mutt's printer,
i.e. the one that I'm trying to set as default on jeff again.
It says "Lines below are automatically generated - DO NOT EDIT". So what
generates them and what should I edit if my problem is the "Deny From All"
setting there. Is my problem actually that "Deny From All" setting?
Note that I just upgraded jeff to Fedora 7 from FC6, but mutt is still running
FC6.
