In my experience, it's worth the effort learning to use commands. Maybe buy a book like O'Reilly's "Linux in a Nutshell."

To learn commands, type "man command" (without quotes) into a command prompt window. In this case it would probably be "rpm". This will bring up a "manual" for how to use the rpm command.
