how to get dhclient to reconfigure link?

Why not use NetworkManager, it starts/stops dhclient when needed?
# chkconfig NetworkManager on
# service NetworkManager start
In KDE there's knetworkmanager tray icon (don't remember the Gnome one)
to control it.
