Hi Tod!

I am not sure exactly what you are saying.

Can you hit a key (in particular escape) when the boot screen
(splash?) first comes up and see the boot menu?

Can you boot at all?

I would be checking CMOS (sometimes strange things happen when the
battery gets low and you can restore by selecting the factory
defaults) for proper parameters and boot devices selected. Check the
cables and disk selection jumpers (if applicable) to see that the
"mastered" device is selected to boot and can.

You may do well to use a live CD to poke arround in the machine and
amongst the disks to see what is going on. There are a number of good
"rescue" live CDs out there that may help.

The parted, fdisk, and normail tail and list tools should allow you to
look at the disks, setup files, and log files which may contain a
clue.

Good Hunting!

Tod
