FC6 install : DVD boots but Anaconda never starts

That's a SATA drive, it shouldn't appear as an IDE drive.

Which IDE connector are you using? Don't use the red "EIDE" 
connectors, but the blue "Primary IDE" connector.

Change that to AHCI. That way your SATA drive should be detected 
correctly.
