Currently there are issues with snd_intel8x0m
module. Could you also check to see if this module is
blacklisted, ie., on the file
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
# ALSA modules to support sound modems. These should
be loaded manually
# if needed. For most people they just break sound
support...
blacklist snd-atiixp-modem
blacklist snd-intel8x0m
blacklist snd-via82xx-modem
If it is there, remove it/or comment it out with # and
try to probe sound again. Hope this helps.
