One way of dealing with it is to use rpm to remove the package, and
then use yum to install the other version. You will need to use the
--nodeps option of rpm, and you have to be careful that you do not
remove a package that yum or rpm depends on when doing this.

A safer way of doing it is to download the RPM, and use rpm to
replace the newer package with the older one. The --oldpackage
option of rpm is designed specifically for this.
