network mannager can't connect to secure wireless networks

hi, i have fedora core 8 in my laptop, i can't connect to a secure wireless network, network mannager ask for a password, with secure network correct parameters (WEP 128-bit Passphrase and Open System), i enter the passphrase and network mannager try to connect, it find the access point but ask for a passphrase again and again and never connect to the network. in ubuntu 7.10 i a have the same problem...

to a network without password i connect quickly, but to a secure network, i never can connect... any idea?
