GDM is borkded

This worked for me yesterday. I did the same thing and gdm was not
working. It was logging me into some queer x.

Went to init 3, and then: 

yum upgrade
yum -y groupinstall gnome-desktop

'yum' stuttered for some time: about not getting proper mirror or
something like that, and then it did work.
