F8 can't open 2nd X session after some updates

I used to open a second X session by doing;
Cntl+Alt+F1, and the in command line input : start --:1 (I tried using any number from 1-6 and result all the same),
I got this message display;


xauth:  creating new authority file /root/.serverauth.3346


Fatal server error:
Server is already active for display 0
        If this server is no longer running, remove /tmp/.X0-lock
        and start again.

It has been working fine until lately yum updater updated my system.
