pulseaudio, howto make it work?

With you Alan, I will respectfully disagree.  If it doesn't work, we do not 
think our complaints are 'silly'.

How about its complete refusal to even recognize an emu10k1 driven card exists 
on the system?  Seems like a very 'un-silly' point to me.
