Configure sound card

I have a sony viao with f10 installed. For some
reason I cannot get any sound out of it. Everything
is pretty much set on auto, no errors, but also no
sound. Is there any way to reconfigure the sound
card or sound/card settings? Add/remove type thing?

The default mixer device.

SigmaTel CXD9872RD/K OSS Mixer

Sound: autodetect
Music/movies, Pulse Audio Sound Server

This is a stock Sony Vaio, Duel-core x2.
