Likewise I filed this against LICQ:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=453682
and pushed a kdenetwork update for Fedora 8 to fix Kopete. (The version of 
Kopete in Fedora 9 was already fine, hooray for KDE 4!)
