How do you set your favorite movie player as the default player?

In my case, when I open a file browser and double-click on a
MP4 video file, mine pops up with RealPlayer.  Somehow
MP4 files are chosen to open RealPlayer.  What I want to
do is the change the default so that it opens the MPlayer
for example.
