F9 system black out when started 2nd X session

F9, after logged in into Gnome desktop as regular user, and then tried to start a new x session under root;

Ctrl+Alt+F1 - Swithched to command line and logged in as root without proble.
Issued command "startx -- :1" and then hit Return key - System black out completely (No video no any message visible at all). 
Tried to go back 1 X session by doing Ctrl+Alt+F7 but could only get another black out video, the only way to gain back normal use is to restart the computer.
