My gnome-terminal windows are defaulting to iso-8859-1 rather than utf-8 because the "Current Locale" is iso-8859-1. This may well be because I set my Fedora 7 locale to iso-8859-1 and the setting has got carried across to my Fedora 8 installation. However I can't see where it's set. How do I get everything to be UTF-8? -- Chris Green
