I assume you are indicating you ran xcdroast in f7 and f8. In f7 it
can't be done with making the program suid root.
You get the following error:

(process:3813): Gtk-WARNING **: This process is currently running setuid
or setgid.
This is not a supported use of GTK+. You must create a helper
program instead. For further details, see:

    http://www.gtk.org/setuid.html
