Why is Firefox such a beast??

	On my present #1 machine, with the add-ond cut down to about 
three dozen, it has been arrantly refusing to launch from a launcher. I 
finally tried "firefox &" as my regular user. It did launch -- and I have 
a growing wad of messages like these :
