Not that the device they supply is likely to be any good, but you certainly
do want packet shaping if you are using voice while having significant
other network traffic. You don't want large queues of packets building
up so that voice packets get delayed. Even single large packets can be
a problem, typically on the uplink which normal has a lower bandwidth limit.
