I would start with the suggestions given in your own error report...

NX> 502 ERROR: Public key authentication failed

make sure that /home/USER1/.ssh/authorized_keys2 is 600 permissions
and /home/USER1/.ssh is 755 but I if I were to guess, USER1 does not
have a valid shell
