if 'zip' under ms os is not pkzip, or is an improved version, ok. early
versions of pkzip had password in last 256 bytes of encrypted file.

i would highly recommend using thunderbird with enigmail installed on
both machines. it is totally simple, ti, any ms windows user can use it.
