In the OpenVPN connection page, under the VPN tab, in the Authentication
section:

Select Type: Password with Certificates (TLS)
Input your User name and password.
Select your certificates.
Enter your Private Key Password (if required)

Click Apply.

This also works with for the LDAP authentication module.
