And sometimes it is an old bios that causes the problem, which is even 
harder to catch. (Especially since in my case the problem was fixed by 
upgrading the bios to something sane.)

Not all problems are Fedora's fault. Sometimes it is just braindamaged 
firmware that got poked in the wrong manner.
