Paolo,

	I got the GUI up by adding the nomodeset to the kernel options found in
grub.conf, (see below).

kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.30.9-96.fc11.x86_64 ro
root=/dev/mapper/VolGroup01-LogVol00 rhgb vga=795 nomodeset

	You should be able to try this from the grub boot menu.
