Firefox will not start from desktop

is '/usr/bin' in your 'env PATH'?

check for file '~/.mozilla/firefox/*.default/lock'. if present, delete it,
try to start as user.

not sure if 'error console' logs individually between users, so when you start
firefox from cli as su, check 'tools > error console' or <ctrl+shift+j>, to
see what is logged.

if you see too many to comprehend, clear them, close firefox as su, try to
start as user, then reopen as su and check 'error console' again.
