I can't connect via ssh

Hi all,

First of all I want to say a huge thank you for your messages. As I do
not understand sometimes very well what are you talking about, I'm going
to give you some basic information that I understand.

The network I'm using is in a research institute, so I'm not on the
control of the network connection, and the machines aren't directly
connected by a cable. I can ping to other machines and connect to other
sites, the problem is when I ping from one to the other, as I said in my
first message.

[german at centauri ~]$ ping localhost

The same result is obtained when I ping localhost in the other machine
(the notebook). The network is operacional on both machines.

The firewall is configured as it was when I upgraded to Fedora 11 in
both machines, I haven't modified anything.
