FWIW, there's been a reply to my Bug 627664, requesting me to test 
against kernel-2.6.34.6-47.  Regretably the reply was not of the "We've 
fixed the problem" sort. Also, my report did not mention the problem 
with hiberhate, for which I've not been able to come up with any 
evidence.
