I've given up on all the GUIs. I just use things like
"yum search", etc.

All the GUIs seem to have decided (on the basis of
apparent total urban legend) to split into the GUI
half and a backend dbus-based server to do the work.
Unfortunately the dbus interface they all use has
no concept of providing feedback. Using the GUIs
reminds me of trying to drive a car with a 10 second
delay between operating a control and anything
happening.
