modprobe options and initramfs?

I'm no initrd expert but I think you did it the hard way. From what I
know about the process all you have to do is rebuild the initrd. More
specifically, let dracut rebuilt it. It's supposed to take into
account whatever you have in /etc/modprobe.d/
