firefox, scaled images, and performance?

I'm on fedora 14 firefox-3.6.13-1.fc14.x86_64. I just tried it
with the -safe-mode option and I still see the delays. It is
definitely weird. Thanks for the info. I guess I'll try making
a completely new user and see if the new user has the same
problem.
