Kernel boot problems or is my hard drive failing ?

Found it and installed it.  Its a very useful application.  

It was part of the gnome-disk-utility package.  I missed that part in
the op.

My disk is SMART enabled and the utility reports that it is healthy.  I
have a booting problem to look into.
