Does anything still need domain names with at least one dot in them?
Years ago I'd encountered some mail clients which wouldn't let you set
SMTP or POP server addresses without one, but I don't recall anything
else doing that.

Don't send private replies to my address, the mailbox is ignored.  I
read messages from the public lists.
