Best way to troubleshoot intermittant lockups on F12

I tried the latest release kernel, with the same problem. When I
telnet in, I get
the normal stuff up till:

Escape character is '^]'.
Fedora release 12 (Constantine)
Kernel 2.6.31.12-174.2.3.fc12.x86_64 on an x86_64 (1)


and then it does nothing, so it is not completely dead.

nomodeset disabling acpi and pci=nomsi do not seem to fix things.
Testing the 2.6.32 kernel will take more time as I have to build some
custom modules against it.
