KDE apps and freetype-freeworld's bytecode interpreter

Even more curious, I had recently re-installed my f12 laptop (new hd, yay!), 
and experienced the exact opposite.  kde apps were swell and nice, gtk apps 
fugly.  haven't been annoyed enough to dig further.
