MultiMedia suggestions?

I have a dvd video that plays fine in my home dvd player, but not via totem.

installed.

I am able to copy the dvd to an iso file, but not play it locally. I 
get, ...

missing DVD source


How might i learn what is missing? Thx, jackc...
