It has been said many times before, but here it is again:
If you use the nvidia module from rpmfusion, PLEASE install the
accompanying akmod-nvidia that will handle this exact situation.
The job of the akmod scripts are to 'rebuild' a kernel module on the fly
for the running kernel if one is not found.
When installing kmods from rpmfusion, please always install the akmod as
well, ie:
# yum install kmod-nvidia akmod-nvidia
Here is the current F13 x86_64 list:
akmod-VirtualBox-OSE.x86_64 3.1.8-1 rpmfusion-free
akmod-em8300.x86_64 0.18.0-1.fc13.5 rpmfusion-free
akmod-kqemu.x86_64 1.4.0-0.2.pre1.fc13.21 rpmfusion-free
akmod-ndiswrapper.x86_64 1.54-4.fc13.20 rpmfusion-free
akmod-nvidia.x86_64 1:195.36.24-1.fc13.5 rpmfusion-nonfree
akmod-omnibook.x86_64 2.20090714-0.4.svn288.fc13.5 rpmfusion-free
akmod-open-vm-tools.x86_64 0.0.0.243334-1.fc13.5 rpmfusion-free
akmod-rt2860.x86_64 2.3.0.0-1.fc13.1 rpmfusion-free
akmod-rt2870.x86_64 2.1.2.0-6.fc13.5 rpmfusion-free
akmod-rt3070.x86_64 2.1.1.0-3.fc13.12 rpmfusion-free
akmod-west-chamber.x86_64 0.0.1-4.20100405svn.fc13.5 rpmfusion-free
akmod-wl.x86_64 5.60.48.36-1.fc13.5 rpmfusion-nonfree
akmod-xtables-addons.x86_64 1.26-1.fc13.3 rpmfusion-free
If you use any of the kmod-* equivalents of the above, please install
the akmod as well to avoid missing modules in kernel updates that
precede the kmod release.
Good Luck!
