You need to install the VirtualBox guest additions. Devices menu>Install 
Guest Additions. This should let you mount /dev/sr0 /mnt and run 
/mnt/VBoxLinuxAdditions-amd64.run as root. Then reboot. You will need to 
have gcc (and dkms I think) installed.
