How does F13 work with nvidia hardware ?

I had that problem.  (I use a laptop with a docking station, I like my
second screen above the built in one.)  I solved it by dropping a xrandr
script in my KDE Autostart dir.  If you like, you can wrap it a test to
see which monitors are detected, and set things from there.

I'm still using the proprietary driver, because nouveau doesn't have the
3d support on my chipset needed for blender yet.  Nouveau does deal much
better with things when I boot with only one screen connected (default
font size issues on the desktop) and in general seems to play nicer with
the desktop.

Nobody believed that I could build a space station here.  So I built it anyway.
It sank into the vortex.  So I built another one.  It sank into the vortex.  
The third station burned down, fell over then sank into the vortex.  The fourth
station just vanished.  And the fifth station, THAT stayed!
