The few times I've done this, the file in question was only unlinked
after being fully downloaded. This made it easy to link to the file
before the download finished. If the behaviour has changed then of
course it becomes slightly more difficult, but still feasible. Since the
file is still open (though unlinked) just link
to /proc/<pid>/fd/<file_id>, as long as you can figure out which fd it
is, which shouldn't be hard (use "ls -l" and see which one is growing).
