Thank you for replying.  I also replied to someone else with this info.

I don't know what could be wrong with /usr/bin/xauth since KDM works fine.  I see nothing in /var/log/messages from SElinux (except something related to wine).

What permissions should I be looking for?

$ ls -l --lcontext /usr/bin/xauth
