Grub_IMAGE 'bad grub stage1 image' -- what is this telling me.

grub> find /grub/stage1
is now returning:  (hd0,0) and (hd2,0)

I don't have a (hd2,0)  but that is where grub thinks the grub.conf file
is and it works !!
