$  cat /etc/cron.d/tmpwatch
# run tmpwatch everyday at midnight
0 0 * * *	root	/usr/sbin/tmpwatch -umc 120 /tmp

This should clean your temporary files every five days (120 hrs). You
can change the 120 to suit your needs.
