I'd think that most people would expect the modified version to be 
saved.  If there's nothing private about the page in question, post it 
here so that some of us who have that version of Firefox (I get mine 
strictly from the repos, and my copy is only 3.6.16 so I can't help.) 
can try to duplicate what you've observed.  If they can, you'll have 
more info for bugzilla.
