To my mind, the most you can do with chroot'ing
to the F15 mounted partition, with F14 being the
booted OS (and with network fully operational)
is that you should be able to run yum -y update.
This will update your F15 environment, but will
leave F14 alone.
But before you run yum -y update, I THINK (but I am not
sure) you will need to  first kill the F14 updates daemon:

service yum-updatesd stop

Perhaps another person who has more knowledge
about the yum-updatesd can shed more light here.
