F15 gnome shell software update notifications?

I've seen them.

I think that the notification pops up once, and if you happen to miss it, no  
trace of it remains, anywhere.

I liked the pre-F15 implementation where, in addition to a regularly- 
scheduled check, a check for software updates gets kicked off when you log  
into the gnome desktop, so if updates were available you'll get notified  
within a minute or so after you log in, and when your attention is likely to  
be focused on the desktop.
